Many men are looking to hair implants as way to get back their full head of hair and there is good reason. It seems that in general women prefer men with hair over men who are balding. When asked, most women said they preferred a man with a full head of hair or a completely bald head than a man who has male pattern baldness or MPB. Apparently the men with receding hair lines or bald tops with hair around the edges, known as fringe, tend to remind women of the older men in their families. This is a complete turn off to women. Could you imagine dating your Grandmother or Grandfather?
A recent study in Great Britain reported in the Telegraph seems to prove the point that in general women prefer men with a full head of hair. The experiment went like this. Two pictures of a man in his early thirties were posted on several dating websites. The first picture was an actual photograph of the man and his natural full head of hair. The second photo was retouched with photoshop to give him the appearance of thinning hair on top of his head. Both pictures had the same bio attached. The bio said he was looking for love as a successful, professional, 30-year old male, based in London and his interests included sports, music, and travel.
The profiles were left on the dating sites for two months. The profile including the picture of the man with a full head of hair received 108 responses. The other profile with the picture showing thinning and a receding hair line only received 22 responses. It would appear that 5 times more women were interested in the subject with a full head of hair than were interested when he showed early signs of balding.
Since everything else was exactly the same the only conclusion to draw is that women prefer men with full heads of hair over men with partial hair loss. This does study did not compare men that have a full head of hair with men who are completely bald or shaved. Many women who were asked said they preferred a completely bald man over a man with hair and the vast majority claimed a bald man was much more sexy than a man with a receding hair line.
And the old tricks don’t work either. Women said men who tried to comb their hair over the bald spot were a complete turn off. It showed signs of insecurity and untruthfulness. Many men with receding hair lines said they were having no luck in the dating scene until they completely shaved their heads and then they starting getting many more looks from women.
The result would indicate that having a full head of hair is a definite plus for dating. If you are balding it would be well worth your while to look into ways to regrow your hair or have a medical procedure like hair implants. If you decide to not try to regrow your hair then shave it bare for the best dating results
